Birthday boy

This lovely vacation splurge has its good reasons. One of them being that mum's dad, mum, sisters and brother all celebrate their birthdays in mid Feb.
Today was grandpa's celebration. We hung out in our backyard where the management of the Casa Candolim earned yet another gold star.
Then pool time. Bo showed off his skills. He's like a fish that boy.

Pool girl

I could get used to this. In my swim wear and all happy!
We are a team. Our project is fun and great. We are unclear on what it is. But we have tools. Sometimes we have discussions on deciding how to organise the work. And the bucket.

Bakom mina solglasögon

Having a big brother is fantastic. But I love hanging with my older cousin Signe. It is us chicks.

Beach shacks rules

I really love this place and our new routine is fantastic. We get up. Eat a pancake or two. Walk over to the kiddie pool at Signe and Bo's. Enjoy lunch at a shack on the beach. Play in the sand and then there is soon time for dinner...
...and I love running in the sand. Just like my bro.

Sweeeet lemon soda

Finally we could hang with our super cousins, Signe and Bo. We shared laughs, beach, meals and that sweet lemon soda. Everything about this was super chouette and a week long birthday bash.
For me it was the first time in the tropics. But even Adam was a little puzzled by the cows marching by.

Time machine #5

In the afternoon, we found Santa walking around in our yard. He was looking for US! Fantastic and his gift bag was loaded with great stuff.
Tosia's first gift was a gigantic Kinder Egg. She loved it and stayed focused for the next hour.

Time machine #4

Grandma is setting the breakfast table with our individual pepparkaka. This is a breakfast in our taste. Cookie AND sugar.

Our julbord (not to be confused with the smorgasbord - which of course is something completely different...) was a joint effort and it was GOOD. Most of the effort was actually done by our neighbours who gave us a lot of superbly done home made stuff. Non-vegetarian of course.
Niklas ate a lot. Maybe he had to do something later on.

Time machine #3

My responsiblilty was the ginger bread cookies (pepparkakor). They have never been better.

And finally came Christmas. And with that Grandma and oncle Niklas. And Ellie.

Time machine #2

After handling the logistics of three moves within a week. We enjoyed snow and our new winter garden.

We see great climbing potential in that new patio. And glass doors are always made of (security)glass. Whatever. They are great fun opening and closing...

We

Time machine #1

Hey there. Hellooh! If you think our life is just gold and silver. Think again. Sometimes. Like every other year or so... we move. This man was from a Swedish packing firm. And they are ok. According to our parents NOT near the standards of foreign dito.

Our parents were fortunate enough to have one move arriving and one move leaving (including of packing) on the very same day. Exactly three days after the BIG move left from Warsaw. They were sooo looking forward to Christmas, yet another two days later. The Polish truck both brought stuff and took stuff away. We were just happy about the snow.

And actually we couldn't care less about the turmoil downstairs. There were too many don'ts and don'ts. We were confined to dad's computer. There were cars racing. Adam is still puzzled though. Why did the green car hit the blue car?

Spider-boy and Spider-girl off for Goa

When you know how to fly like Spider-man, the two and a half hour Indigo flight is a piece of a cake. Or to be literal there were actually quite a few pieces of buscuits... Now Spider-boy and Spider-girl are heading for the beach. Surf's up!

Jumpin' Jack Flash

Sometimes I have the trampoline all to myself. Then I stretch out over the dirty surface, relax and just enjoy the calm. But for real, it is only when my bro and the other kids are around it is getting crazy FUN!
Here Adam is showing some moves with one of our best friends.

And here he's looking a little smitten by the camera. Well posed, brorsan!

Hanging out in Swedish

Hi. Can you see me? It is still me, Adam. But I am in a tube slide at the park. I like the park. We do it every Thursday pm. Well sometimes more often. But every Thursday we hang out with a certain group of other kids speaking "normal" (...Swedish). Me like.

Even though Tosia hasn't got any language preferences yet, it seems, she finds other gems on Thursday pm. Such as getting her mouth full of popcorn and buscuits. She loves popcorn and buscuits.

We also enjoy the swings. This is actually just a posing picture for dad and his camera. Our true love is individual swings. This s**t is plain stupid.

Changes

We loved Warsaw. But slowly our hearts are adjusting to this other place. It is easier now since our toys and the rest of the stuff has arrived. Before it looked like this when we were playing/relaxing.
The echo in the living room was though pretty good... And thank you mum and dad for bringing our big climbing toy in our check-in luggage coming here.
Ok, it is not a tivoli. But it is still FANTASTIC. Sorry to say. Stuff rules.
Musse et. al.
And no more echo chamber.

Outside fun

One of the wonders from living at an embassy compound is greenery. And we LOVE it. Of course some of the grown-ups keep spreading negative rumours that the 48 degrees in May and June might stop even us from enjoying the lush surroundings of our house.
No crib tour stop short of showing the pool area. For me, being born in Sweden it is part of my cultural heritage to be fascinated by a swimming pool. Adam, our family filipino, is moderately impressed. He claims it to be made for grown-ups. Whatever. When the heat hits our fan - I'll be back!

Our new hood

Where are you? Are you all good? Well a certain tiger stole most of the headlines earlier this year, but now we end our radio silence. We are here. And we are good. Please let us show you around in our new hood. First a few "after" pics of our crib.
Most important in our dining room is of course our orange breakfast table. Here we share müsli and raisins. Lots of raisins.

Hello Grandpa!!!

Well, hello the rest of you too! It's just that on this particular photo I was on the phone with Grandpa. And honestly speaking, most of my phone conversations are with him. That phone thing is sort of his thang!

Panoramic, how?

By the way, this is part of the view from the coffee shop.

Wodny Park Hair Dos

Sometimes on Sundays, dad and Adam go swimming at Wodny Park, which is a cool and preventively priced water land pretty close to what until yesterday used to be our house. When they come out, Adam often has a very tidy hairdo, hair combed to the side. Last week, mom and I came along. We didn't go swimming, but we hung out in the coffee shop, where there's a panorama window, which allowed us to see how Adam and dad came down the water slide time and again. The Wodny Park Coffee Shop Hairdo looks a bit different than the Wodny Park Swimming Pool Ditto. I think it may have something to do with the choice of carpeting and toys there.

Just kidding

Of course I'm not oblivient to the move! I've only done it once before in my life, but this much I gather: it's freaking hard work to move. And it's freaking hard to leave a place that you really like. And people that you really really really like. Sure, I'm excited about India. No, I'm excited about the other ones being excited. But I'm really NOT excited about leaving Warsaw.

We're moving?

Oh, well. Wake me up when we're done. (Toshia proving that moving does not have to be a stressful thing, that the perception of it is just a matter of attitude.)

A sweet time of the year

For someone with a sweet tooth, advent marks a very nice period, indeed. At home, candies are still only allowed on Saturdays, but when invited to a Christmas candy party, rules are bent and Sunday is as big a candy day as Saturday. Well a whole lot bigger, actually. Especially if the hosts are our Ferrero-connected friends, Clair and Emma. Clair is a friend who dates back to the English Playhouse last fall. And Emma too, although her ability to actively participate in the friendship is way better now than back then, considering that she was only born in October last year. For those of you who are wondering: Ferrero is Ferrero as in Ferrero Rocher, Ferrero Noir, Nutella, Kinder chocolates, etc. And the practical poll at the Christmas candy party showed that Ferrero Rocher is the candy of choice for most people.

A whiff of Italy

Annica was here last week. I may not have known her from before, but as mom, dad and Adam all seemed to view her presence as absolutely normal, I decided to go with the flow and adopt her as well. So. Annica was here. And that was a lot of fun.Although she's really not much of a photographer. Or maybe she is! This pic fits right in with the other ones in our arts cathegory. Not blurry. Compsed.

Cultural teachings 2

If you go dressed like this in Sweden, especially on an average Tuesday, people might look at you and think you have really weird parents. If you go dressed like this in Poland, especially on an average Tuesday, people might look at each other and nod in approvement. And it's quite likely that they'll tell you that you look fantastically elegant. (Yes, they have seen and taken the Hello Kitty tights into consideration.)
Yet another reason why we will miss this place.
