I decided to try that flu thing after all
I want to do whatever Adam does, have whatever he has. But to be honest, I'm not so sure about this anymore. It really doesn't feel very good at all.
And plus, Adam's almost well again, so it's not even filling its purpose. But aparently, it can't be reversed, so now I have to endure this for the next couple of days at least. If I knew any bad words, I would use them. Powerlessly.

Straight from the studio
From Signe and Bo, I got water colors for Christmas. The result is some pretty classy works of art. Or how else would you describe the following:
"The Shark, the Diver and Nemo" (mom helped paint the spectacular Nemo).
"Sea Turtle"
This painting doesn't have a name yet, and as it's not equally figurative as the others, it may require some explanation. The technique I have applied is what they call "finger painting" and to further emphasize that, what I have done is to paint my fingers, using my fingers. Pretty ingenious, wouldn't you say? And avantgarde!

Looks of unwellness
You can see it in our eyes, mom's and mine, that we are in the midst of trying out this year's flu. Impression so far: it's very effective. Definitely has all the features you'd expect from a flu.
Antonia and dad have so far not managed to catch the virus. I try to be of assistance by sneezing them in the face now and again, but honestly, they don't seem to keen on getting it. Dad claims that there's no real benefit in experiencing that kind of thing first hand and Antonia nods in agreement.

Functionality clothings
To keep me from wrecking his train tracks today...
...Adam handed me an elephant to play with.
It was stuffed and nice and provided me with loads of fun, until I dropped it and despite good efforts didn't manage to pick it up again.
The problem felt absolutely insurmountable...
...until I realized that my clothing made for some pretty good entertainment as well.
Skirts! What a great invention!
As for Adam, he really had no reasons to worry about his tracks. I wouldn't have managed to wreck them even if I wanted to. Track-wrecking requires the same motor skills as the picking up of dropped elephants.

Thank you, cartoon creators!
This is one of those days when turning your back on the world is the only reasonable thing to do. You see, one of us doesn't know how to crawl yet, despite really really wanting to, and the other one hasn't managed to avoid the fever that's been plaguing the block for weeks, despite really really wanting to. Thus, neither of us is very happy right now.
But we believe in oblivience. Parked in front of the TV, we forget our worries and start feeling those of Nemo instead, or those of the Lion King, or Lightning McQueen, or the rat in Ratatouille.

A taste of Iran
Today, the mailbox content was a lot more interesting than it usually is. Cilla had sent a book, entitled "the International Sleep All Night Book", which made mom and dad jump with joy. And Gustav, who is safe and sound back in Malmö, had sent a postcard from Iran, where he went to extreme ski.
I went straight for the postcard - I have a feeling that sort of literature is more easily digested for someone like me.

Update: Right now it's all mine! There is justice after all!
Adam's asleep. Thus, I have the world to myself, toys and all! The white Duplo horse that Adam got for Christmas from Pelle and Cilla... Mine! The brown little teddy that he really likes... Mine! The dad, which Adam was first to call his own... Mine!
And the giraffe that squeeks when you bite it, it's mine as well. Too bad I can't have those things when Adam's awake, 'cos from all other perspectives, I like it when he is...
Introducing Henry
Mom has a new baby. A Godbaby. She couldn't be any happier!
His name is Henry and he's the brand new brother of Rosie.
I'm sure you remember Rosie, Adam's first first big love.
To see more of Rosie, visit the BabyBoy Blog and type Rosie in the search field. I assure you you'll find a lot. Like these video clips.

No fair!
Adam has a lot of toys. Me, I have none. It's true. They are all his, or so he says.
The cool crocodile from Tiny Love... Adam's. Gone in a sec from when I find it.
The tasty plastic dinasour... Adam's. Gone in a sec from when I find it.
But at least the stuffed little heart with rose prints is mine! ... No? Gone in a sec from when I find it.

The unfolding of an ear
When I was born, my left ear was not completely unfolded. They said it was something permanent, that'd be my look. They were wrong. (But it was fun for as long as it lasted.)
1 day: folded.
1 month: folded
(Yeah, I was magically cute already back then.)
3 months: folded no more!
Just a curiosity on a gloomy January day like this.
1 day: folded.
Appropriate clothing
I have a t-shirt with the inscription: I may not be as BIG as you, but I can be LOUDER. It's a good shirt, helps people understand me. Well, at least it would have, hadn't mom put other clothes on top of it in her attempts to keep me warm and keep elderly Polish ladies from yelling at her when she brings me outdoors.
Here are the insightful people who gave me that shirt: Mange and Maaike.
And this is how old I was: 24 days, exactly. The inscription held true already back then.

Introducing Bebba
I talk about her here once in a while, but I don't think you've seen her before: This is Bebba (or Hanna, which is her given name, but I've never heard anyone use it). She's exactly my age and a dear friend of mine. She's also the fastest runner on the block, by far. That might be why she's never been captured in a picture before.
If Filippa were my sister...
...this picutre could probably have been used for a Christmas card or something. Not that we look like ourselves in it, either one of us, but there is definitely something Christmas cardy over the constallation.

Now we're talking!
THIS is what I imagined winters to be like. We were just off to a slow start.
But now, I'm telling you, there is nothing slow about the start anymore! They (ok, perhaps just Antonia and I) call me the canon ball!
Last visitors of 2008, first of 2009
To venture into the new year, we have to give an account of how last year ended. Mom and dad would probably have said "in the company of great friends", but I'm more into the term god parents/highly entertaining grown-ups. You see, Pelle has a capacity to play that exceeds even the highest expectations. On New Years, he outdid himself by playing with me for six hours straight, while the others were preparing for some night-time festivity (one which neither I, nor Antonia, were not invited to participate in).
And Cilla reads stories so well that you'd think that's something she does for a living. Oh wait. I just realize she does. Well no wonder, she's really really good at it. And plus, she has the patience to read you the same book over and over.
Mom and dad claim they're always happy to be with us, but I have an absolute feeling that they quite like not having anyone on their laps too, once in a while. And when they can have that AND good company, it clearly makes them happy.
And that festivity thing on new years that Antonia and I weren't invited to, despite it being held in our house? Well, we've decided to let that slide. After all, it felt a bit better once we realized that Viktor and Filippa, as well as Simon, were all here that night, but that they too had to stay upstairs with us. Asleep.
It's the cameras' fault that the images are a bit blurred! Not the photographers'! Really!

Quick and boastful update before we return to the recent past: This is me now!
I stand on my own. (Ok, holding on to the baby gym, but still!)
I can sit unsupported! (Ok, only for a couple of minutes at a time, but still!)
Plus, I'm making progress with my crawling ambitions, although I'm not quite there yet.
I love it!
Yeah, you can go ahead and call me wonder child! I think it's justified. I mean, hey, I only just turned five months the other day.

And how much did we like having Petra, Grandma and Grandpa here?
THIS much!
And Grandma didn't seem to mind either.
