To venture into the new year, we have to give an account of how last year ended. Mom and dad would probably have said "in the company of great friends", but I'm more into the term god parents/highly entertaining grown-ups. You see, Pelle has a capacity to play that exceeds even the highest expectations. On New Years, he outdid himself by playing with me for six hours straight, while the others were preparing for some night-time festivity (one which neither I, nor Antonia, were not invited to participate in).
And Cilla reads stories so well that you'd think that's something she does for a living. Oh wait. I just realize she does. Well no wonder, she's really really good at it. And plus, she has the patience to read you the same book over and over.
Mom and dad claim they're always happy to be with us, but I have an absolute feeling that they quite like not having anyone on their laps too, once in a while. And when they can have that AND good company, it clearly makes them happy.
And that festivity thing on new years that Antonia and I weren't invited to, despite it being held in our house? Well, we've decided to let that slide. After all, it felt a bit better once we realized that Viktor and Filippa, as well as Simon, were all here that night, but that they too had to stay upstairs with us. Asleep.
