Swedish midsummer in Poland

You gotta give it to us! We may be abroad, but we do our best to uphold our traditions. Such as dressing summer pretty at midsummers, despite the June weather really requiring a different attire. And we take the cold that results in like vikings (i.e. we curse our bad judgement in hindsight, while coughing through a pheumonia. Nah, not the whole family, just mom).
A good way to ensure a cold is to get wet. Antonia and I, and my classmate Sara, found a fountain. With fish swimming in it! Alas, we were found out a bit too soon, and thus, had our plans of joining those fish postphoned for us. Highly annoying! Insead we joined in the dancing around the midsummer pole with the grown-ups. They were all very engaged, and although we felt reluctant at first, after a while their enthusiasm rubbed off on us too. Well, on me at least. I don't know if Antonia really got over the scariness of sitting on mom's shoulders while she jumped around and sang weird folk-tunes.
This is how dressy dad was: wearing his wedding cuff-links and all!
